Jasco has announced the opening of a new
office in Kenya as of 1 April 2015. Based in Nairobi, the office will help to
cement Jasco’s position in the East African market, expanding the group’s
geographic footprint and providing more effective customer service to clients
in the region.
“Creating a dedicated presence in Kenya will not
only allow Jasco to strengthen its position in the East African market, it will
also allow us to more easily service new and existing clients within this
region. Kenya is the hub for the East African community and a growth market for
Jasco. By establishing a presence in the region, Jasco will also further extend
the company’s footprint,” says Danny Ross, Executive Head: Africa at Jasco
Enterprise.
With the backup and resource support of the
Jasco team in South Africa, full time employees will be based at the office in
Kenya. The initial focus of Jasco’s East African operations will be on the
Jasco Enterprise offering. This will be extended to incorporate the entire
Jasco offering in due course. Jasco Enterprise has several existing customers
in the region across a variety of sectors, including financial services,
telecommunications, service providers and logistics.
“We have always encouraged the philosophy of
employing local people and engaging with local businesses, which is essential
for creating sustainable operations in any country. We will capitalise on new
opportunities and partnerships as well as focus on expanding our relationships
within the East Africa market,” says Ross.
Jasco’s strategy in the region will be to
focus on solution selling, incorporating the implementation of value-added
services into their offering. Utilising a wealth of experience and intimate
understanding of the market and customer needs, Jasco will focus on growing
business with existing customers and increasing market share through the
acquisition of new customers. With the backing and support of distributors and
product suppliers, as well as existing partnerships and a proven track record
with a variety of best-of-breed global solutions, Jasco aims to capitalise on
opportunities in this growing market. In addition, Jasco will be leveraging its
skills in service management, project management, business development, in
depth understanding of solutions and services to aid customers in deriving
maximum benefit from their technology investment.
“As a starting point, we will take our
existing products, solutions and services into current market segments that we
are very familiar with and have had success in. A dedicated presence in Kenya
will not only improve our customer service, it will also afford us the
opportunity for additional growth. Our aim is to win new customers in our
sectors of focus, and expand our solutions offering into new markets.
Leveraging the extensive portfolio of offerings from within the greater Jasco
group, there is significant potential for cross and up-selling and business
growth,” Ross concludes.
